Share Your Closet

Share Your Closet (SYC) is a non-profit organization founded on supporting compromised communities in West Africa through clothing donations and other charitable services. I spearheaded the production, functionality and overall design of the website until its launch in the Summer of 2021.

The Problem

The concept for SYC was driven by three people with a singular objective in mind: "Clothe people in need with items you no longer want in your closet". The organization was in need of funding that would help them reach their visions for 2022 and beyond. The best way to ensure success in this task would be through a digital presence, accessible to people near and far.

Process & Work

We decided a website with an integrated payment gateway would be the ideal platform to use for funding from potential donors. I began the process of site development with a plethora of wireframes containing various concepts: some to be used from inception, and others in the future.

Later, my efforts evolved onto other fronts: continued website development on WordPress, copywriting assistance and most importantly, configuring the site's payment gateway integration via Stripe.

The Result

SYC's website was completed and a virtual launch event was subsequently hosted in July 2021, where the site's mission statement, vision and future roadmap were discussed with attendees. The organization's digital presence was made public and approximately 75%+ of attendees donated to the organization's vision within a few hours of the event's conclusion.
