EB Sports Group

During the Summer of 2019, I worked with a Sports Marketing subsidiary of EB Sports Group to begin my experience in Web Design, using WordPress to create and redesign client assets.

The Problem
As a student in Graphic Design, the Marketing Director onboarded me with intent to redesign a client's website, but this was a larger-scale project for someone of my level at that time. To start out, I was tasked with creating smaller assets like business cards as a preliminary exercise that would showcase my ability.

Process & Work
Once I was able to begin the web design work, I was introduced to the client's older website. I worked with the goal to create a site with a more unified, contemporary appearance that wasn't cluttered with a multitude of media and text, like the old Homepage was.

Once the Marketing Director showed me the basis for the redesign, I gained hands-on experience with WordPress to create the updated site, learning more about the platform along the way. The main hurdle to overcome was finding a way to display all of the aforementioned media in a more presentable manner.

The Result
Towards the internship's conclusion, I gained a working knowledge of WordPress and the client had a website design with a better user flow, aesthetic and user experience. The biggest gap in difference was between the old and new Homepage; where the old homepage was littered with media, the new one was contemporary and easier for users to course through.
